Nicholas Hagger Autobiography

My Double Life 1 ‘This Dark Wood – A Journey into Light’ 650 page paperback: £25.99 Kindle: £11.99 and 'My Double Life 2 - A Rainbow Over the Hills’ 1090 page paperback and Kindle £11.99 by Nicholas Hagger. Published by John Hunt Publishing. www.nicholashagger.co.uk

This is a two volume autobiography by Nicholas Hagger, a well- known intellectual and educator. Unlike most autobiographies that are written by a ‘ghost’ writer, this is written by Nicholas Hagger himself. From tutor to Hirohito's son, to witnessing the Gadaffi revolution first hand and to a fight against communism and possibly contributing the fall of the Berlin Wall, this is a personal history full of wonder, excitement and insight. It is not a life without problems but as the author believes that difficulties lead to greater understanding of life, there was no shying away from reporting the most personal of events.

The early part of his life, from his birth in 1939 to his leaving the Secret Intelligence Service in 1973 is detailed in Part 1. As a child, teenager and young man, he was studious, deep thinking, reflective and curious about so many aspects of his own psychology, politics, history, philosophy and poetry. He played with Derek Bentley as a child (Derek Bentley was hanged) and he was aware of John Clare's madhouse at Lippett's Hill nearby his childhood home.

Due to his considerable writing abilities and vast experience, he explains many complex topics in detail with ease and grace. He finds intricate patterns in life and describes numinous, spiritual and otherworldly experiences, such as premonitions and visions. He once met a psychic who made some unlikely but accurate predictions. He reports interesting meetings with many prestigious people along the way (some of whom committed suicide, some were murdered and one was hacked to death!). During his espionage days (his code name was Esau) his home was bugged, he was followed on foot and had his home ransacked; he also had death threats. It was said that information gained through his spy work helped to shape British policy. Deep dedication and commitment to his ideals underpinned his years as a spy.  It was a standing joke amongst his top secret handlers that his old green Volkswagon was the most photographed car in the world!

He describes how Soviet funding supported the British miners during the Scargill years. He asks many questions that he wants answers to: Who stole Mrs Norris's valuables and what did Tom Hammond of Wickford know about Mrs Norris's family hierlooms and about safe breaking. He describes a situation while Lord Astor was changing his clothes that Stephen Ward stole letters which he handed to the Russian spy, Eugene Ivanov. The letters contained valuable information about Skybolt missiles which were to be Britain's nuclear weaponry. Ward stole plans which had been sent to Lord Astor by the Observer newspaper. Lord Astor and Stephen Ward went to the ground floor study where the post was. When back at Wimpole Street, Stephen Ward's address, Ward rang Roger Hollis, head of MI5. It was claimed that Hollis, Ward and Ivanov were a Soviet spy ring obtaining details of Skybolt and when the missiles were being send to Germany, the call girl, Christine Keeler was instructed to find out from Jack Profumo when the nuclear warheads were being moved to Germany. Ward admitted to being a spy. Hagger expresses interest, belief and knowledge of The New World Order and states that Norman Tebbit was associated with the Bilderberg Group. Who is behind the CIA? Not the US government but the Rockerfeller organisation! Tony Blair was a mouthpiece for the agenda of the New World Order.

Nicholas Hagger was named by Kathleen Raine as 'Servant of the Sacred Flame'. His most recent aim is to bring English poetry back to its metaphysical roots. In addition, he is a polymath; a prolific and talented writer of plays, short stories and full length books on a very wide range of topics. He was the first of his family to go to University. Lauren's van dear Post suggested Nicholas should be History Advisor to the Prime Minister.  The text is peppered with poems and quotes from classical works which inform his ideas and beliefs. Though an intellectual, he also is highly practical and combines these leanings with mystical interests. He relates many extraordinary incidents from his childhood and university days and his dangerous work in Iraq, Japan and China. He reveals, while working undercover as a teacher and journalist, he acted as an espionage agent and suffered a deep personal betrayal. Was the Brighton bomb a Soviet-Gadaffi plot? He was almost exposed by Kim Philby in 1971. Throughout this time, he gate-crashed an Ambassador’s reception on the Queen’s Birthday, was invited to join the Mafia and he was threatened with execution! Hagger confirms claims that Victor Rothchild (3rd Baron) was the fifth man (though this was denied and he was cleared by Margaret Thatcher); Philby, Burgess, McLean and Blunt being the 4 great British double agents of the late 2oth century. Hagger was told on good authority that the Rothschild family controlled both MI6 and the Bank of England, in fact all banks with the exception of Cuba, North Korea and Iran. Ezra Pound was evidently placed in St Elizabeth's Hospital, an insane asylum, at the instigation of the Rothchilds.

He remembers a past life where he was thrown from the top of an Egyptian temple and was the girlfriend of Ramses II. He dreamt the date of a national election and the winner (John Major) and he predicted that a teacher at one of the schools that he owned would commit suicide. He describes many spiritual experiences, especially psychic knowing and presentiment, glimpses of unity and the light and his healing ability certainly helped his son's recovery from serious illness.  He saw orbs in his bedroom at Otley House, which was haunted by a girl who had been locked in a cupboard and he was forced to hide under the covers out of sheer fright. He received a great deal of his inspiration whilst sleeping and he instigated a new spiritual movement of Universalism at Coopersale House called 'The Foundation of the Light' in order to bring in a 'metaphysical revolution'. He states "Psychic abilities might be a bridge to spiritual truth, but are inferior to it." He has an interest in the kabbalah and states that Shakespeare, Blake, Yeats and other great artists also studied it (he studied under Warren Kenton). His spirit guide was the poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson. His poems, many of which were channelled, represent a record of his journey along the 'Mystic Way' and are described as shooting out of him, like rocks from the molten lava of a volcano.

Is there a tribe of Jews in Mozambique as Tudor Parfitt suggests? He discovered a symbol which represents Weishaupt's Illuminati (a triangle with an eye with spokes of light) depicted in the Church of St Andrew in Budapest! Had the decision to overthrow Margaret Thatcher been taken at a meeting at La Toja of Kissinger and the New World Order Bilderberg Group? She was opposing a European Central Bank which they wanted to introduce. Was Robert Maxwell a Soviet agent? He created the Universalist Group of Philosophers and was the Founder of 'Heros of the West' which his publishing house supported. There is a moving account of the death of his mother and the text is rich in personal reflection. At one time he almost bought a castle in Hungary. This is just a snippet of the amazing material in these two tomes! This is an autobiography to beat all other autobiographies! My Double Life Volume 1 ‘This Dark Wood’ is a whopping 625 pages in length and it leaves the reader hungry for more. It’s amazing what one person can achieve in a lifetime! Both autobiographies, part 1 and part 2 are available from all good bookshops and from Amazon in both paperback and kindle editions.
