The word ‘viceversa’ means ‘the other way round’: one could say ‘on the one hand… ‘ and ‘on the other hand’. Janus, Roman God of Doorways is the inspiration for this deck. He guaranteed passage between the worlds and is an insightful introduction to the entire area of tarot and divination. He is one of the oldest and most mysterious of deities. He has two faces, one which looks to the past, the other to the future. One is self reflective, the other looks to the outer world. He protects the invisible and what is hidden.
This deck presents an entirely new and different approach to Tarot card reading and is designed to stimulate the reader into a multidimensional reading, with an understanding of a double message contained in each card, shown in the images on the front - and back - of each situation. Viceversa Tarot encourages us to look through doorways, to stop on the threshold, look in both directions, each an entrance and an exit to a personal meaning. Walk this corridor of contradictions, associations, resonances, intuitions and inspirations.
The Pythagoras School had two principle areas of learning, one external, one internal, one which studied the observable essence, the other, practical applications. If we do not comprehend these polarities, of light and dark, inside and outside, we cannot transcend our present circumstances.
I am excited by this deck. I like the artwork by Davide Corsi (who also provided artwork for Ghost Tarot, Tarot of the Elves, and Pictorial Key Tarot). We have not just 78 paintings but this is doubled by artwork appearing on both sides of the cards. The double card images aid my Tarot readings enormously and I find them a creative joy to work with. Recommended!
