 We are given a direction by the author, “May your immram make you glad in your soul, and may its blessing ripple through the world.”  If I had a criticism, it would be that the Lenormand size cards are somber in colouring, and computer graphics rather personal artworks, so I was a bit disappointed. There is a folded card insert in the box for a card spread - I would have preferred a larger sized, and more colourful deck of cards.

For the author, tarot is not a method of fortune telling but a method to prepare for the next move by examining the present situation. We are urged to ask questions of this oracle. Sayings and quotes from Leonardo are included with information on elements, numbers, shuffling, choosing, clearing, augmenting, bridging and interpreting. Reversals of card meanings are provided but the card backs are not intended for upright AND reversed meanings. 

Each Macrocosm card (the Greater Archetypal World) has more than a page of explanation and is given untraditional titles, such as Enigma for II, Twins for VI, Imagination for VII, Time for X, Experience for XII, Passover for XII, Pain and Pleasure for XV, Deluge for XVI, Way Shower for XVII, Conception for XVIII, Birth for XIX, Renewal. Each of these 22 cards have a Latin numeral, a title, a message, an explanation of the image and background information to help with the reading, such as Soul-code, upright reading, reversed and disconnected. For the Microcosm cards (the Lesser Manifest World) each have a title, a message, and an explanation of the background of the image, a soul-code, reversed and information about a disconnected energy relating to the card.

Colour images with history of Petit Lenormand cards and comparisons with the tarot, here we learn the meaning of each card, their alphabet, and how they relate and we are given examples of readings. We learn what a 'significator' is, laying out the grand Tableau of all cards, and how to use the cards as a storyboard. Playing card images are included on the Lenormand cards and we learn how to use them in a reading and how to improve our skills after having worked with them for a while, such as telling the time in a reading, finding lost items, locations, resding for ourselves and others. There is a quick reference guide at the back of the book for key meanings and a useful index. It's a must for all professional Lenormand readers!

Celtic Wisdom Pack

 

Celtic Wisdom Box by Caitlin Matthews provides information about ancient Celtic spiritualitty, with ceremony and ritual for today's world with prayers and blessings, the Wheel of the Year, the moon cycles, the land, seasons, how to set up a shrine and how to use the cards. The box contains a black metal pendant, small animal cards in black and white ink and a book of Celtic lore. This is a great little book to help us to mark and celebrate the seasons.
