Pieces of bark or stone with letters from the Celtic alphabet known as Ogam have been used for divination for 1,600 years. Information about this 'secret' alphabet, sacred groves and the Green Man are provided in the companion book.  Each card carries an image of one of the sacred trees of the Celtic people, with the title of the tree and the Ogam letter it represents. For each tree, a divinatory meaning, tradition and lore are supplied.

There is information on how to use the card deck, how to formulate a suitable question and how to grow in understanding of the cards and tree life. The Green Man is explained and the Midsummer Queen. The book contains the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
There is a one card sample reading 'Wisdom of the Green Man' and a 3 card reading titled, 'The Three Worlds' with two sample readings, one for male and one for female. There is also a 5 card reading ‘The Heart-wood’ spread and a sample reading and a 7 card ‘Many Leaved’ spread with sample. 'Turning the leaves' is reading the cards and by 'talking to the Green Man' we access ancient wisdom of the natural world. 
Will Worthington is a Druid and he provides the deck with most magnificent magical artwork. The cards are very attractive with images depicted under Gothic arch. Painted with egg tempera on wood coated with gesso and sanded, these paintings are a joy and whenever friends visit, I ask them to find the hidden face of the Green Man within the image of each tree.
