The Promethean Oracle

Mind Body and Soul Ezine Card Deck Review: The Promethean Oracle by Sophia Kelly Shultz and Mark Cogan. Published by REDFeather, £33.99  Boxed set of 50 cards (size 3” x 5”) plus information guidebook.

"A road less travelled!"

Hooray! There are so many card decks on the market that appeal to women. The Promethean Tarot has a masculine focus with powerful masculine energies, so it's ideal for male seekers and readers.

Prometheus was the hero who stole fire from the Gods and brought it to humankind. With this deck, men can learn about themselves, not about their 'small' self, but about maturity and what they are capable of as individuals with great caring strengths and deep courage - the sort of men this world needs!

Topics: re-evaluation, ethics, diplomacy, integrity, remembering male ancestors, focus, leadership, confidence, balance, service to others, wisdom, responsibility, accountability, emotional riches, health, good outcomes, honour, compassion, the wise use of power, challenging wrong-doing, transforming evil into good. Examples of greed, jealousy, abuse, vanity, arrogance, pride, scorn, double standards, and self-service are provided as challenges to the development of the divine. It’s a card deck for men who are interested in spirituality, in finding the divine in their lives, and who are getting real and growing up and who want to bring about necessary changes in our world. Steal that passion from the Gods!

The deck is divided into sections: Chakras and colour for 7 Prometheus Cards, there are 11 Kings, 6 Creators, 6 Innocence, 7 Experience, 10 Order & Chaos, and 3 Tempus cards.

I found the section on chakras and colours out of keeping with the Greek hero book title. The international god forms, kings and heroes that are presented, eg.,  Osiris, Horus, Solomon, Agamemnon, Akhenaton, Gilgamesh, Imhotep, Marduk, Achilles, Enkidu, Elijah, Odysseus, are given a short introduction which I felt could have been extended but there is write up space for personal research, experiences and understandings. Archetypes need thorough analysis - balance always required when working with these energies.

This deck will ‘wow’ the socks off the men in our world!
