60 cards represent the cycle or pillars of 10 Heavenly Stems of Yin and Yang qualities and the 5 elements of wood, fire, metal, water, and earth, which are the foundation of the Tao. 12 Earthly Branches depict animals, rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, bird, dog and pig.
The author, Vicki Iskandar, born in Indonesia of Chinese heritage, is an expert in Chinese metaphysics and a Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology Consultant. She provides her biography in the text and explains how the concept reflects her personal life journey. This deck is a modern, easy to use interpretation of very ancient and complex system of divination. It is intended for balance, harmony, and alignment, to gain understanding of the Tao, climb to a higher spiritual vibration, and open the door to the spirit within. The author draws attention to the importance of joy, positivity and resilience.
Information is provided in the guidebook on all aspects of this Chinese philosophical system and advice on when to avoid a reading, how to ask the right questions, how best to meditate, and the Qi ritual is explained. There are a sequence of steps to a reading which are outlined to connect to your team of angels, ancestors and spirit guides. You begin with a one card reading. Spreads: The Yin and Yang 2 cards, The Sacred Triangle 3 cards, The Five Elements 5 cards, and The Flying Stars 8 cards.
Good card stock. I liked the artwork by Candice Soon. The year 2024 will be a Wood Dragon Year!
