Mind Body & Soul Ezine Book Review: Underworld - Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age by Graham Hancock
This 700 page tome is written by Graham Hancock, TV presenter and author of the best selling “Fingerprints of the Gods’, ‘Magicians of the Gods’ and many other well researched, investigative archaeology books. This one, Underworld, begins in India where an underwater stone block, 23 metres under water, must date back many more thousands of years than originally surmised. India’s earliest civilisation is a mystery. Its script was highly developed 5,000 years ago, but the earliest style is unknown. Investigating underwater would be necessary as it could reveal a far more ancient civilisations than was currently accepted by academia, hence the title of this great book of discoveries and fantastic insights.
Within a short period of time, an underwater terrace was discovered 30 metres off the coast of Japan. Could it be 10,000 years old or could it be a natural formation? Graham Hancock takes us through his reasoning and shares with us his communications and researches into antediluvian stone structures created after the ice age. He realised he would need to learn to dive! At this time, some new underwater columns, statues and other ruins had been discovered off the coast of Alexandria. By page 14, I am hooked on this fantastic expedition where dates of civilisation are being pushed back by thousands of years all around the world. I think readers will love this story as we are taken almost day by day to experience the excitement and wonder and revelations as they happen.
Graham Hancock is a great storyteller and globe trotter - and an amazing research ferret - and I love non fiction books that take me on expeditions to make new discoveries in our world. Recommended! Reviewer: Wendy Stokes https://wendystokes.co.uk
