Who Moved the Stone?

Mind Body & Soul Ezine Book Review: Who Moved the Stone? By Frank Morison, paperback published by Authentic Media.

The author, Frank Morison was a non believer, but upon studying the text of the New Testament and related material, he became convinced of its historical truth. The book is an indepth historical study, and a psychological study, of the last week of the life of Jesus, from his last supper with the disciples, to his arrest in Gethsamene, the demands of the Sanhedrin, his trial conducted by Pilate (whose wife Claudia had a warning dream), Pilate washing his hands and offering a replacement to the people of Barabbas, the crucifixion and burial in the tomb of Joseph of Arimethea, and the women's story of their visit to the tomb on the third day.

This is a two volume autobiography by Nicholas Hagger, a well- known intellectual and educator. Unlike most autobiographies that are written by a ‘ghost’ writer, this is written by Nicholas Hagger himself. From being employed as  tutor to Hirohito's son, to witnessing the Gadaffi revolution first hand, the author fought gainst communism and possibly contributed to the fall of the Berlin Wall - this is a personal history full of wonder, excitement and insight. It is not a life without problems but the author believes that difficulties lead to greater understanding of life, so there was no shying away from reporting the most personal of events.

Sheep by Alan Butler

Circle Network Book Review: Sheep – The remarkable story of the humble animal that built the modern world by Alan Butler, paperback 212 pages, £9.99, published by O Books

This book has enhanced my appreciation of this extraordinary animal that has offered humanity not only milk, meat and leather, but precious wool to make textiles over the course of thousands of years. This creature has created trade across nations, created huge industries and supported the wealth of magnates, church and royalty. The book includes breeding information, how cloth was made throughout the ages, important people and places. There are a billion sheep in world today, still working for humanity and asking for very little maintenance in return. No wonder the author devoted an entire book to their history, mythology and value to the human race.  Where would we be if there were no sheep on planet Earth?

The Master, The Raven and The Ageless Teapot Review

Circle Network Book Review: The Master, The Raven, and The Ageless Teapot - And All Because of the Letter by Denise McDermott-King, paperback published by Axis Munda Books, £9.99 141 pages, Author website: www.dmdking.com

This is the follow up book to McDermott-King's first, titled 'The Master, The Lover and Me'. Having not read the first, I found this was an adequate 'stand alone' book which can be appreciated in its own right. The author is knowledgeable about Theosophy and related esoteric subjects which provide the basis of recent interest in the communication with spirit guides. It is however, a very ancient philosophy that she has accessed for these two books.
